| Flexrail2 is a Two Circuit Line Voltage System with a Capacity of 2400 Watts Per Circuit or 4800 Watts Total Carried in a Bendable Track. The Two Circuits may be Switched Independently. For Example: One Circuit could be used for Ambient Lighting, While a Second Circuit may be used for High Intensity Accent Lighting. The System Offers a Complete Array of Both Low Voltage and Line Voltage Fixtures, Compact Fluorescent, Metal Halide Fixtures , as well as Low and Line Voltage Pendants. |

| HOW IT WORKS |
|
|
|
| 2 Switches on One Feed Circuit Provide the Convenience and Flexibility to Use 2 Sets of Fixtures on a Single Track. 2 Sets of Fixtures May be Used to Light 2 Areas for 2 Applications Such as Spot Lighting and Wall Washing, All on a Single Run of track from a Single Feed Point. 2 Circuit track is an Economical Way to Light 2 Areas from a Single Point. Eliminating the need to Run Additional Wiring and Creating Additional Holes in the Ceiling or Wall. One Circuit is Limited to 120C 20A (2400 Watts). |
|
2 Switches with Two Feed Circuits Provide the Same Benefits and Economy with the Added Benefit of Doubling the Electrical Load to 4800 Watts (2 x 2400 Watts). This is Ideal Where Long Runs with Many Fixtures are Anticipated or for Applications Where Many High Wattage Fixtures are Used. Rated 3 Wire,
2 Circuit 120V / 240V, 60Hz, Single Phase Grounded Neutral. |
|
Each Fixture is Equipped with Two Electrical Contacts. Connecting the Fixture to the FLEXRAIL2 from Left Will Engage 1 Circuit - Neutral + Red (Shown). Connecting the Fixture to the FLEXRAIL2 from the Opposite Side Will Engage the Other Circuit -
Neutral + Blue - (Not Shown). |

| design considerations |
 |
| layout |
Create a layout for Flexrail2 to provide an interesting design to light the application with the quality and quantity of light required, bearing in mind the location of the power feed junction box. Straight track is available in 4' and 8' lengths. Pre-curved sections are available in 4 different radii (12", 17", 23" and 35"). While Flexrail2 track may be curved by hand, it is strongly suggested that the Flexrail2 Bending Machine (HM-BM) be used for bending if a smoother curve is needed. Consistent curved sections can be made in the field using the Bending machine with a minimum recommended radius of 23".
Draw a full size layout on the floor, and use a length of rope to trace the layout. Measure the length of rope to determine how much track will be required. An alternative is to make a scale drawing and trace the layout with a piece of string. |
| Suspension |
It is recommended that straight sections of Flexrail2 be suspended at a minimum of every 48". When heavy or ballasted fixtures are used, support may be necessary more frequently. Suspension Standoffs and "I" connectors are available in fixed lengths (6", 12", 24", 36" and 48"). "I" connectors serve a dual function. They join 2 sections of track and provide a suspension standoff at the same time. Using pre-curved track sections require an "I" connector/standoff at each joint. Field curved track sections should be supported every 32" minimum when heavy or ballasted fixtures are used. Suspension standoffs are offered for flat ceilings, sloped ceilings and T-bar ceilings. "I" connectors are available in the flat ceiling configuration only. When using the "I" connector in sloped or T-bar applications, components from a standoff must be used.
Determine the finished height of the track. Be sure to allow for the size of the fixtures to be suspended from the track as well as the length of the suspension standoffs. |
| power |
| Power Canopies attach to standard 4" junction boxes. To feed rail, select either a flexible wire feed or rigid rod. Rods are supplied in sizes from 6" to 48" and provide mechanical support to the rail as well as electrical connection. Power feed rods do not allow field cutting, and may not be mounted on sloped ceilings. The flexible wire feed will work on sloped ceilings, but does not provide support. Flexible wires are available in 48" or 96" lengths, and may be field shortened at the canopy end. |
| Light source |
| Flexrail2 may be fitted with any of the HM series fixtures. They include low voltage and line voltage accent lights as well as compact fluorescent wall washers and metal halide fixtures. Using the Flexrail2 QC transformer (HM-EN50 or HM-EN75) allows access to the full range of QC fixtures and pendants . Attach fixtures anywhere along the track to meet task, accent and ambient/decorative lighting needs. |
