FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT OUR PENDANTS
1) Are the pendant fixtures UL or ETL approved?
They are ETL listed. ETL is a competitor of UL who focuses on the electrical industry as opposed to UL who handles a wider scope of products. Many other companies in the lighting industry carry the ETL safety label including Lithonia, Thomas Industries and Progress Lighting.
2) What are the different ways I can order pendant fixtures?
First of all you have to determine the hanging method. You have three options.
a. As part of a track system. In this application, you will not need a separate transformer. The fixture is built like track head, fully equipped with a 50W electronic transformer. You will simply determine the track system:
i. H (3-WIRE)
ii. L (2-WIRE)
iii. J (WIDE 2-WIRE)
b. As part of a linear system. A separate transformer is required.
c. As a single monopoint light.
i. MI - On a mini 2 1/2" monopoint. In this application you will need a remote transformer.
ii. ME - On a 4 1/2" monopoint with a built-in 50W electronic transformer.
iii. MO - On a 4 1/2" monopoint. In this application you will need a remote transformer.
3) What type of dimmer do I use with these fixtures?

4) In what lengths and colors do the pendant fixtures come?
The cord/ socket sets are available in 48" and 96" lengths, in black or white.
5) What is included in the socket set?
The socket set includes a socket, a 12V 50W JC-Bi-pin lamp, and a frosted shield and either a 48" or 96" cord in black or white.
6) Can the pendant fixtures be field shortened?
They can be shortened to any length simply by cutting the socket wire to the desired length, and reconnecting the wires to the socket which is easily accessed, and the replacing the bulb shield.
7) What types of shades are available?
We have the dome and cone in red, yellow, white, blue and green. We also have the inverted open cone in pink, seafoam green and white. Metal shades are available in brushed aluminum and gold.
8) What does the "hang-straight" tube accessory do?
It is a plastic sleeve (like a straw) that goes over the cord to obtain a perfectly straight drop. Often times, pendant cords do not hang perfectly straight as the shade is too light to keep the cord straight. It gives the appearance of a metal rod, but has the flexibility to be cut to any length.
9) How do Install the Hang Straight Tube?; How do I Field Shorten?

TO INSTALL HANG STRAIGHT TUBE OPTION
a) Remove Plastic Fitter and replace with
Metal Fitter provided.
b) Use a box cutter or knife to cut the tube to desired length (add 0.5" for insertion into Metal Fitter).
c) Slip the tube over the cord.
3) Slip the Socket Cover over the cord.
4) Slip the Socket Holder over the cord.
5) Slip the Strain Relief over the cord.
6) Carefully splice the end of the cord.
7) Connect the wires from the cord to the wires from the Socket with the Wire Nuts.
8) Tighten Strain Relief about 2" above the Wire Nuts.
9) Place all wires and connectors back into the
Socket Cover.
TO RE-LAMP
1) Remove the Bulb Cover.
2) Carefully remove lamp from the Socket.

10) Are the monopoint fixtures available in gold?
Yes - all three styles, MI, ME and MO come in black, white or gold.
11) How do I get pendants longer than 8'?
The longest we have is 8". The reason we can't go any longer is to avoid a voltage drop.
12) Can I order the track version of the pendants in a 75W?
No - they are only rated for 50W
13) Why is the bulb shield frosted and not clear? Can I get it in clear?
No - it only comes in frosted. The frosted shield provides an even light with no hot spots.
14) How can you mount pendant light on a sloped ceiling?
The canopy (ME, MI, MO), or track fixture is installed as usual on the sloped ceiling. The cord makes the bend. When using the hang straight tube, there will be a slight gap at the top fitting. (it is designed to fit inside the fitting which will not work when sloped).
